Zimmerman is accused of killing Trayvon Martin while working as a neighborhood watch volunteer.
Several media groups including CBS, NBC, and the New York Times are challenging prosecutors in the George Zimmerman case who filed a motion to keep subpoenas secret from the media.

ORLANDO, FL (Catholic Online) - The prosecution in the case is asking the judge to keep secret the subpoenas issued by the defense as well as any discussion of what evidence they might present.

Lawyers representing the media say the request is unjustifiable and out of line with what's required under Florida law.

The media wants as much information as they can obtain before the trial to share with readers who have been galvanized by the case.

Zimmerman, 29, is accused of killing Trayvon Martin, 17, who was wandering through Zimmerman's neighborhood. Prosecutors say the killing was unjustified and possibly racially motivated while Zimmerman claims he acted out of self-defense.
