An unidentified woman is wanted by the Pinellas County sheriff after she was photographed swimming with an endangered Florida Manatee. It is against the law to touch or disturb the animals.

ORLANDO, FL (Catholic Online) - The sheriff's office is circulating their best photos of the incident in the hopes of finding and capturing the perpetrator.

The unidentified woman approached the gentle creatures at Fort DeSoto Park last weekend. Other visitors photographed her as she proceeded to swim with, and at one point ride, a manatee.

Visitors contacted the sheriff's department, but the woman disappeared before they arrived.

The sheriff's office did say that no manatees were known to be injured.

Anyone who can identify the woman in the pictures is encouraged to contact local law enforcement.
