![]() Florida East Coast Industries Inc. began negotiations last week to connect the Orlando and Miami international airports ORLANDO, FL (Catholic Online) - The private rail company proposed to the board of directors at the Orlando International Airport the idea of resurrecting the airport's plan for a brand new south terminal, however with the change that the terminal would be designed to host four rail lines including SunRail. To construct the new terminal and facility, the cost would be over $1 billion. "They certainly have backing from a large investment organization," OIA Executive Director Phil Brown stated. "They appear to be committed to wanting to move forward." The rail company still requires the need to build or obtain 40 miles of railroad by Orlando. Coral Gables-based Florida East Coast Industries Inc. first stated it would be making a privately owned, operated, and maintained 240-mile passenger rail line to link Orlando to Miami back in March. © 2012, Distributed by NEWS CONSORTIUM. - - - Pope Benedict XVI's Prayer Intentions for January 2013 General Intention: The Faith of Christians.
