Ocoee shares health clinic

Catholic Online (www.catholic.org)

The centers provide primary care as well as other medical services.
On Tuesday, Ocoee City Commission is expected to approve a contract with Apopka and Mount Dora.

ORLANDO, FL (Catholic Online) - The agreement would make each of the cities' health centers available to the other company's employees, retirees, and dependents. The contract is a part of a growing effort to reduce health-care costs.

Ocoee and Apopka share their facilities with each other, but by adding Mount Dora to the agreement, increased access and convenience will occur. Operated by CareHere, the health centers are now open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., but on different days.

Ocoee's center is open on Mondays and Wednesdays. Apopka and Mount Dora's center are open on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

The centers provide and include primary care, flu shots, x-rays, and other medical services. The centers have helped reduce health-care costs by allowing workers to obtain treatment for medical problems, before developing into worse complications.
