The Orlando Salvation Army is on the front lines of a war against bed bugs.
The Orlando Salvation Army is doing all it can not to let the bed bugs bite. Their men's shelter in Orlando has been temporarily closed because of an infestation of bed bugs.

ORLANDO, FL (Catholic Online) - The Salvation Army announced the temporary closure on Thursday.

The shelter will remain closed for up to one week as the building is tented and bombed for the bugs. Staff say the cost of tenting the facility will be around $15,000.

The closure affects at least 75 homeless men who must now find other accommodations while nighttime temperatures outside dip into the 30's. Another 50 men enrolled in the agency's transitional program will be housed in the shelter's gym until the infestation is stopped.

The Salvation Army is hoping the public will come forward to help cover the costs for the treatment.
Bed bug bites can cause severe itching and infections.
