 The Amway Arena will provide one last show in March. ORLANDO, FL (Catholic Online) - Developers announced their decision on Thursday, to demolish the arena with explosives instead of a piece-by-piece process.
Large scale demolitions tend to be the stuff of Las Vegas and Hollywood blockbusters, but they have happened in Orlando before. In 1991, the old city hall was demolished in a planned explosion that was featured in the 1991 blockbuster movie, "Lethal Weapon 3."
