The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services paid $325,000 for a yearlong sponsorship that includes the parade as well as other events during Orlando Bowl Week. Hundreds of volunteers from across Central Florida have been at the Orange County Convention Center, decorating the floats with all types of Florida-grown products. Steve Hogan of Florida Citrus Sports, organizer of the 32nd annual parade says that ehen it comes to the floats, citrus is still king. Adding veggies, including squash and corn, does allow for more creative and vibrant designs. "You can really make some spectacular floats," Hogan said. "For us, it was a lot of fun."
